Walter Schwimmer en visite officielle en Italie
[12 MAR 2003] Le Secrétaire Général du Conseil
de l'Europe a entamé aujourd'hui une visite officielle de
trois jours en Italie, dans la perspective de la Présidence
italienne de l'UE. A Rome, il rencontrera le Ministre des Affaires
étrangères Franco Frattini, le Président de
la Commission des Affaires étrangères du Sénat
italien, Fiorello Provera, le Ministre de la Justice Roberto Castelli,
le Ministre chargé de la Politique communautaire Rocco Buttiglione
et d'autres personnalités politiques. A Naples, le 14 mars,
le Secrétaire Général visitera la Maison de
la Méditerranée, à l'invitation de Claudio
Azzolini, Président de la délégation italienne
auprès de l'Assemblée parlementaire du Conseil de
l'Europe. Il remettra le Prix Méditerranéen de la
Paix au Père Elia Chacour, prêtre catholique palestinien
et citoyen israélien, converti au judaïsme afin de témoigner
de la proximité des religions monothéistes.
Walter Schwimmer on official visit to Italy
[12 MAR 2003] The Council of Europe Secretary General today begins
an official three-day visit to Italy, in the light of the forthcoming
Italian presidency of the EU. In Rome, he will meet Foreign Minister
Franco Frattini, Chairman of the Italian Senate's Committee for
Foreign Affairs Fiorello Provera, Justice Minister Roberto Castelli,
Minister for Communitarian Policy Rocco Buttiglione and other high-level
officials. In Naples, on 14 March, the Secretary General will visit
the Maison de la Méditerranée, at the invitation of
Claudio Azzolini, President of the Italian delegation to the Council
of Europe Parliamentary Assembly. He will present the Mediterranean
Peace Prize to Father Elia Chacour, a Palestinian Catholic priest
who converted to Judaism in order to highlight the close relations
between monotheistic religions.
