PREDRAG MATVEJEVIC
“Mediterraneo un nuovo breviario” has now become
a classic, written by Predrag Matvejevic, eminent Romanist at
Zagreb University, Professor at Sorbonne and outstanding European
intellectual, in his mother tongue, the Croatian, in 1987 and
translated into many languages, including Arabic and Romanian.
A “great voice from ‘Mitteleurope‘ –
that is a continental world, with large Croatian-Pannonian plains
– has written a brilliant, unexpected and shocking book
on the Mediterranean, which adds to cultural historiography
as well as to the true literature about sea, with its millenary
poetic treasures that challenge the ones sunk in the depths”.
The Mediterranean Laboratory Foundation has collaborated in
realising the Arabic edition.
