The knowledge of women belonging to ancient
Mediterranean civilizations, before the classic era, provides organizational
models in which difference does not mean inferiority or superiority.
It is an ancient hypothesis, whose origins date back to the archaic
peoples of Anatolia and the Minoan society, and which takes shape
as the background aimed at defining the relationship between men
and women in the new millennium. A background, in which values and
competences of women are synergistically related to men’s
ones in order to build up a society tailored for both. Women, men,
feminists, men of letters and scholars from all over the Mediterranean
examine the most recent results of anthropological, sociological
and psychological research.
